Cross Worlds to shut down current global service on September 17th, 2026, as Netmarble prepares unified server relaunch

  • Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds global service shuts down on September 17, 2026.
  • Crypto-linked MARBLEX service officially ends after years of backlash.
  • A new global unified server scheduled to open this July, prior to shutdown.

Netmarble has announced a major shake-up for Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, confirming that the game’s current MARBLEX-powered global service will officially shut down on September 17, 2026. Sales of paid items will end earlier on July 2, 2026, after which the publisher will begin transitioning players toward a brand-new global unified server scheduled to open this July, prior to shutdown.

Netmarble confirms fresh server relaunch with mandatory character reset

While this is technically not a full end-of-service for Ni no Kuni: Cross Worlds, it is still a massive reset. The current servers, official forums, and MARBLEX ecosystem will all be discontinued, with players required to create entirely new characters on the upcoming server.

Netmarble says migration support rewards based on each player’s Combat Power (CP) will help ease the transition, with higher-tier accounts receiving better compensation alongside accelerated growth support on the new servers.

However, what has been questioned now is the quiet removal of the game’s controversial blockchain and crypto-linked MARBLEX system, which had been attached to the global version for years. For those unfamiliar, Cross Worlds drew heavy criticism after launch for integrating play-to-earn mechanics and NFT-style monetization, something that the Korean version notably avoided due to regulations.

Community reaction has been brutal. Many players see this less as a server merge and more as a forced relaunch, arguing that years of progression and spending are effectively being wiped away. Several users pointed out that the crypto experiment appears to have backfired badly, with some even calling it a cautionary tale for blockchain gaming.

Others criticized Netmarble for asking players to start fresh despite prior monetization, especially long-time spenders who invested heavily into progression. Beyond the crypto discussion, longtime fans also expressed disappointment over what happened to the franchise itself.

Ni no Kuni once stood out for its stunning Studio Ghibli-inspired visuals and charm, but many feel Cross Worlds gradually became overshadowed by aggressive monetization, bots, and pay-to-win mechanics.

For now, Netmarble is promising a cleaner future with improved progression systems and fresh content on the unified server. Whether players are willing to give the world of Evermore another chance, though, remains the bigger question.

PakarPBN

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a collection of websites that are controlled by a single individual or organization and used primarily to build backlinks to a “money site” in order to influence its ranking in search engines such as Google. The core idea behind a PBN is based on the importance of backlinks in Google’s ranking algorithm. Since Google views backlinks as signals of authority and trust, some website owners attempt to artificially create these signals through a controlled network of sites.

In a typical PBN setup, the owner acquires expired or aged domains that already have existing authority, backlinks, and history. These domains are rebuilt with new content and hosted separately, often using different IP addresses, hosting providers, themes, and ownership details to make them appear unrelated. Within the content published on these sites, links are strategically placed that point to the main website the owner wants to rank higher. By doing this, the owner attempts to pass link equity (also known as “link juice”) from the PBN sites to the target website.

The purpose of a PBN is to give the impression that the target website is naturally earning links from multiple independent sources. If done effectively, this can temporarily improve keyword rankings, increase organic visibility, and drive more traffic from search results.
